THE PHOTOGRAPHY

WELCOME

I AM A STORYTELLING PHOTOGRAPHER HERE TO CAPTURE A PIECE OF HUMANITY, WHATEVER IT HAPPENS TO LOOK LIKE.

The perfectly imperfect moments. The deep belly laughs. The tears, quiet moments, and the chaos. The connection. The real moments that belong to you. Your relationship is unique, your family is poetry, and the human experience is art.

I offer emotive family sessions, empowering rewilding sessions, soul-centered elopements, and fine art school portraits.

How it works

1. Reach out and let’s talk about your session. – Just fill out the contact form to get started.

2. Reserve your date and choose a location (I can help!). – We’ll pinpoint the perfect date and piece of Earth.

3. You’ll show up and love on your people. I’ll take care of the rest. – Seriously, this is a stress-free zone. You don’t have to worry about a thing.

4. Go home feeling seen, heard, and reconnected with the humans that mean the most to you.

5. I send your images. – Receive a gallery full of storytelling images that are rooted in the Earth, your relationships, and the moments.

rewilding sessions

In this entirely custom experience, we move to emulate La Loba, the Wolf Woman who collects and preserves what’s at risk of being lost to the world. With her mystical power as inspiration, every detail will be a psycho-archaeological dig into the feminine psyche, a Soul retrieval that culminates in feelings of health, wholeness, and holiness. A journey that brings you back home to yourself.

soul-centered elopements & micro-weddings

An elopement is the stripped down, intentional and authentic alternative to a stressful and distracted wedding experience. It is centered on the couple getting married – focused on their wants, their dreams, and their goals. And getting married in the Pacific Northwest is like getting married in a wonderland. With a rugged coastline, drippy rainforests, impressive mountains, pristine alpine lakes, meadows with copious wildflowers, lavender fields, and endless hiking trails, there is literally a perfect location for every kind of couple.

Want lots of choices? The PNW will give you all that, and probably even surprise you along the way. There is no shortage of epic views, moody vistas, and stunning sunrises and sunsets. It’s a beautiful place to connect with your partner and the Earth.

  • Half Day Elopement Coverage (4-6 hours)
  • a getting to know you questionnaire + personalized location idea list
  • customized elopement timeline
  • full-resolution digital files + the printing rights
  • a digital gallery to view, download, print, and share your images with friends and family no matter where they are located
  • slideshow
  • travel fees are already included

Artistic, Honest, & Authentic Portraits of Childhood

WANT TO KNOW MORE?

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions!

Family Sessions last around 1 and a half hours on either Whidbey Island or at an outdoor location within 50 miles of downtown Seattle. It’s best if the location is meaningful to your family for one reason or another (even if it’s just because you find the landscape really stunning). Together we’ll find the perfect piece of Earth for your session.

If you desire a locale further afield, I’ll prepare a custom quote and we’ll make it happen.

Since sessions take place outdoors, I schedule sessions in the early morning at sunrise or in the evening about two hours before sunset when the light is especially golden (everyone looks their best in this quality of light).

My approach to photography is soulful, nostalgic, and cozy, with a focus on storytelling images that communicate connection. It’s important to me that I only work with families who desire emotive and authentic imagery that tells their family’s story honestly and organically (remember, your story is worth telling!). And, of course, it’s important that you choose a photographer who fits with your vision as well! So no, I won’t “pose” during sessions. However, I will “guide” (so don’t worry, I won’t leave you hanging!). I will also play games with the kids to keep them happy and cooperative.

My family sessions yield candid/emotive images that show connection, joy, and personality in a way that posed images just cannot. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, then we’ll be a great fit!

Your experience matters! A mini-session would not allow the time or the space for connecting and rooting into the moment in the same way a storytelling session does. For this reason, I never offer minis.

» Choose a color scheme, more specifically, pick a couple of colors and choose clothes that fit in that color scheme.
» But don’t be too matchy, matchy. You should avoid having everyone wear the same color or outfit (this goes for matching kids’ outfits, too).
» Avoid clothing with logos, characters, or catchphrases (e.g., a big Nike swoosh), as these can be distracting and will date your images. Think timeless and classic.
» Patterns can be fun and are a great way to add visual interest.
» Textures (e.g., knits, lace, corduroy, velvet) are another great way to diversify a wardrobe and they photograph beautifully. I especially love the way knits show up in images, and they are great for layering as the temperature dips on summer evenings.
» Layers, hats, and accessories (like scarves) will keep everyone comfortable when the weather or temperature shifts, and have the added benefit of introducing more personality into your session images.
» Keep your location in mind, some styles are better suited to a more natural environment and some just fit urban settings better.
» Most important of all though is to remember that these images are meant to be a reflection of you. If you choose something wildly different than the types of clothes you would normally wear, you likely won’t feel as comfortable in front of the camera.

The turnaround time for your full gallery is 6 weeks (though usually much, much sooner!).

When your photos are ready, you will receive all the high-resolution digital files that I edit from your session  (minimum of 50) delivered via a password-protected online gallery where they can be viewed, downloaded, and easily shared. From there you are welcome to order print products through me, or you can look into creating prints with your own preferred lab. You have full printing rights to these digital images.

My pricing is all-inclusive, meaning you pay one price for all the delivered digital files (a minimum of 50). Total cost for family sessions is $1200. A 50% deposit is due when booking to secure your session date.

Just pop an email to the address [email protected] or fill out the contact form here.

wHAT AN HONOR IT WAS TO WORK WITH SUCH A COMPASSIONATE HUMAN.
