An elopement is the stripped down, simple alternative to a stressful and distracted wedding experience. It is centered on the couple getting married – focused on their wants, their dreams, and their goals. An elopement is a small, intentional, authentic wedding experience focused on YOU TWO – and your little loves.
It could be just you and your kids on a mountain top in Washington State, or it could be a small ceremony with immediate family in a park near your home, or you and your kids could have a destination elopement in Patagonia.
The best part about eloping is that YOU get to choose what YOUR wedding looks like! That’s right, your elopement package can be as unique as your relationship.
Some people call elopements with guests “intimate weddings” but you can call it whatever you like! Again, there are NO rules! Most elopements I photograph include the couple, their children, and maybe a few guests. Sometimes there is an officiant, but not always. The laws are different in each state, and whether you’re legally getting married during the ceremony or signing papers later will determine the number of witnesses you need.
Whether you’re eloping on a mountain top in the North Cascades, on a beach on Whidbey Island, or in an Arizona slot canyon, I can help you navigate the entire planning process. Together, we’ll craft a meaningful and authentic experience that feels just right to represent your unique love and relationship. Getting married outside sometimes requires a permit. I know the ins and outs to wedding ceremonies on public lands and I’ll ensure each box is checked and each permit is accounted for.
I have all the best tips and tricks for hiking in wedding attire. Or I can rig a makeshift changing station, if you would rather change when you get there! I can give you the secret to maintaining wedding-ready hair and makeup outdoors. Demonstrate how to pack that stunning bouquet in your backpack so it looks just as stunning at your ceremony location. And even give pointers on keeping your kids from getting cranky on the trail.
Have you been checking the weather? I have! I also carry with me the things you might have forgotten – insulated leggings, headlamps, snacks, and the all important caffeine. You won’t be caught outdoors unprepared, trust me!
